A Dangerous Police Experiment In Pittsburgh
A new case study to watch.
You may have heard the news recently that Pittsburgh, a city of about 300,000 people, did a few “headline-grabbing” things with their police force. The two biggest are probably:
From 3am to 7am, only 20 officers will be on staff — again, for a city of 300,000.
In general, Pitt dispatchers will only send police to “in-progress events” that are dire, which essentially seems to mean you can shoplift as much as you want in the Steel City and no one will get dispatched.
