A House Full Of Corpses
Looking at the aftermath of the Michael Haight family annihilation in Utah.
The Michael Haight family annihilation happened in January 2023, so over two years at this point. I wrote about it briefly then, more in the context of a question I constantly ponder about why Men “snap,” but now we have some really haunting video related to it. I’ll get to that video in a second, but basically the story here is that a Mormon couple had, as you’d predict, five kids. Somewhere around kid 2, Michael (the husband) began being abusive, and there are rumors he was abusing both the wife and the oldest child, a daughter. I believe the accusations regarding the oldest child were tossed out for lack of evidence, but that doesn’t per SE mean it wasn’t happening. The wife finally booted him at one point, but then took him back, with the speculation being “Mormon ideals” and “presentation of family.” Finally, in late December of 2022, she filed for divorce. That’s a mark of true strength, especially for a Mormon woman and what that implies, but it also enters you into a period of “gap time.”
She took the kids and went away with her mother for a week and a half around the 2022 holidays, but when she came back, Michael was refusing to leave the family home. She needed him to sign paperwork basically legally forcing him to remove himself from the family home, so they met up in early January of 2023. He killed her, the kids, her mother, and then himself. There was obviously no trial as everyone involved was dead, but I hadn’t seen the body-cams on this until very recently.
Here they are, and as you watch this (if you choose to), just imagine these cops and deputies entering this house, which is essentially a family morgue at this point. It’s eerie. There is even the standard “WELCOME” wooden sign at the door.
