Max Unger had a hard childhood -- harder than most of us could imagine. And now he appears to be thriving.
Back in October of 2003, a couple in Michigan named Mark and Florence Unger had two young kids — and for various reasons, said couple was getting a divorce. Florence Unger, apparently, had even begun dating a new man, albeit casually. Mark Unger, the “patriarch,” argued for a family weekend at a lake in Michigan before the divorce was final. Sometimes, police call this “gap time” — the period when a woman is out, but not fully out. As you might expect from this introduction, Florence Unger did not come home alive from that weekend, and Mark Unger got life in prison for killing her.
