Hailey Okuna was a “nursing influencer” on IG and TikTok, who I believe mostly posted videos about how to become a nurse and get certified as a nurse and early stages of being a nurse. In recent years, she began posting more about struggles with infertility, which is something that typically resonates with a ton of people, but people are afraid to say it resonates for them, because a lot of us desperately want to present a “normal” version of virility and fertility outward, even tho that’s increasingly less and less of the case (later marriage, general health, etc.)
Her and her husband did get pregnant, and then once the baby was delivered, she horrifically died of complications from the birth. Basically, to snapshot it, she wanted this thing seemingly more than anything, got this thing, and died in the process. While some would probably call this “the greatest sacrifice” or some other odd coded-religious-semantic thing, I can’t really think of anything sadder.
