This guy Andrey Demskiy was 28 and living in Antelope, California — which is an unincorporated part of Sacramento County, about 1 hour and 23 minutes from Sacramento itself. On December 20, he apparently murdered and beheaded his one-year-old (yes, read that one again) son, which seems to be spelled either Mica or Micah, and then fought with deputies who arrived to deal with the situation. Some of the deputies dispatched to this call were “visibly shaken” and I’ve seen some reports that a few had to take unexpected leave over the holidays. This piece of filth was indicted on Christmas Eve (“a season of perpetual hope”) and a GoFundMe for the baby’s funeral has already raised $100,000. In his first court appearance just after Christmas, he was wearing blue clothing — apparently in Sacramento County, that means you’ve been transferred to the psych ward of a prison. His public defender, a gentle soul by the name of Norman Dawson, says there are “significant mental health issues” but he hasn’t received everything he needs to from the prosecution, so it could be weeks before he can publicly comment. I bet he is glad he caught this case.
