Can Men Be Trusted?

Kenzie and The Man vs. The Bear argument, in real and horrific terms.

Kenzie here was a girl from outside of Buffalo, New York. At the time this all happened, about two months ago, she was living in Portland, Oregon and working as a nurse. She took a trip to Europe with, I believe, a female co-worker. The co-worker left Europe on November 5, 2024, and Kenzie was going to stay a few more days. She was, at this point, in Budapest. On the final night before her flight back to the U.S., what we seem to know is that early in the night she posted a single glass of wine and sent it to her friends, indicating that maybe she was out and about by herself. Final night in Budapest/Europe, woo-hoo.

Later, she met up with a guy — could have been random, could have been via Tinder or a match app — and seemed to go to four bars with him, then back to some type of rental. The guy was Irish and 37. I am sure you can find his name on the Internet somewhere, but he is not officially identified by Hungarian authorities yet. Kenzie was 31, and — this feels relevant — off a long relationship.

Based on surveillance video, they found this guy and he admitted to killing her, but he said (as they do) that it was “an accident.” You can get some of the surveillance video in here:
