Harrison Butker And The Unclenching Of The American Asshole

This isn't really much of a story, but I think we lack other things to discuss.

If you have not seen 10 million hot takes on this already, basically Harrison Butker is the kicker for the three-time World Champion (“world” for a sport just played in America is LOL) Kansas City Chiefs. He gave a commencement speech at some small Catholic/Christian college and he basically said women should aspire to motherhood and domestic bliss. This was a perfect dividing line down left/right ideology, because the right is always on the lookout for a prominent person arguing for a return to 1954 gender norms, and the left is always looking for something to be pissed off about. The fact that Butker plays for the same team as Taylor Swift’s boyfriend is a nice little cherry on top of all this shit.
