Taylor Meyer was a seemingly typical dad of three in Jeffersonville, Indiana. His wife was named Deborah. Apparently things were on the rocks. On Valentine’s Day, he was struggling with the relationship and had recently seen a photo online of Deborah holding hands with another guy, apparently a co-worker. So, he decided to go all-out. He planned a Parisian-themed dinner for them, including the three young kids drawing pictures of the Eiffel Tower for their mom. Seems nice.
Thing is, Deborah didn’t seem to care much about the effort that her husband put into it, and apparently left the house for 20–30 minutes to go see her theoretical lover.
So, naturally, as a small subset of broken Men do, Taylor lost it on her when she came home. She somehow went to take a shower (?) and while she was showering, Taylor looked at her text messages on her Watch. She exited the shower, and he demanded her phone. In a true sign of the woman who has strayed, she refused to give up the phone. So they started fighting, and a wine bottle got involved, and she said something like, “What are you going to kill me so our kids have no one?”
And that’s exactly what he did.
And then in another nod to broken Men, he grabbed her phone, took a pic of her lifeless body, and texted it to the lover. The lover then called 911. Apparently the cops had to use “other techniques” to subdue Taylor, so I guess he tried to fight or some such. The kids were, of course, in the home.
Here’s some video that runs down some of it and how it could potentially play out in the courts:
