"It's Time To Fight Trump!"

OK, Subdivision Sarah, what are the steps?

After anyone gets trounced in an election cycle, because everything in America is now ridiculously tied to politics, the losing side always says “Now is the time to fight” or “We must prepare for the fight ahead.” I have never, on either side, understood what “fight” means in that context. Most of the repercussions of political shifts ultimately need to be determined in courts (usually), and most of the people who post about “fighting” are not lawyers, because, TBH, most lawyers don’t post extensively online. They realize it could backfire on them in a heartbeat. Sadly, one exception is chronically-online Mike Davis, who seems like a full-blown KKK member and almost became the Attorney General of the United States back in December 2024.

So, my specific question is this: typically, especially after this past election, the group claiming they will “fight” is a specific type of highly-educated woman, often white, who tried to frame this entire context around reproductive rights but sadly, that didn’t land. Usually these women have Instagram, Facebook, maybe YouTube, and possibly Substack. They might have local communities (think PTA), but oftentimes, those local communities are a mix of women who think exactly the same as they do + women who claim to think the same to be socially-included but really vote for Orange Man Bad to protect their privilege.

How could a woman like this “fight” against a guy like Mike Davis, or against Trump, who have legitimate corridors of power and influence? Do we think that posting a lot on IG about the patriarchy is “fighting?”
