Most People Are Pieces Of Sh*t; Focus On The Good Ones
A life lesson that's surprisingly hard to learn.
I have written almost countless times about empathy since I started blogging, probably because I feel like I try to give it to others — although I am not always successful, for sure — and I don’t get a ton of it back. Maybe that sounds victim-y, and I apologize, but it’s always been fascinating to me how we have obsessions with power and wealth and we fundamentally know those things, while they may seem cool from afar, tend to reduce empathy. Ever since the political age of Trump, so 2015 or so, it’s hard to argue that certain guys (and some ladies) have become “mask off,” meaning the shit they used to say and ways they used to act at dinner parties or in “it’s just business” situations are now out in the open. It can often feel like we have less empathy as a people.
I sat down to write this article about fertility and empathy, but as I was just eating my lunch, I realized I have already written versions of that article. I didn’t feel like adding another “woe is me” log to this fire,
