The conventional logic on IVF usage is about 2% of American live births, and obviously that number has ticked up over the years. Usually when data around IVF use is presented, it’s framed as “Not many people use it” but “There’s increasing awareness of it.” Here is a chart from Pew, for example.
I’d personally argue it’s way higher than 2%. While there is a national database that I believe OBGYNs and fertility specialists have to upload data to, it honestly seems like the “two percent” figure is tied to surveying.
