The Boys Are Going MAGA

A shift rightward among young men means something, although the narratives on what seem flawed.

I have written a metric sh*t ton about masculinity and the decline of men and men vs. women and all that. Maybe I will link a few later. Not sure yet. But now we have a new brick in the gender discourse wall — and no, we aren’t talking about defining gender here — regarding the radicalization (or complete apathy) of younger dudes.

This is based off some University of Michigan research, detailed a bit here.

The essence of that is: younger boys are trending conservative, and younger girls are trending liberal. This is 12th-grade, though, so pre-college — and we all know how college indoctrinates young men into liberal pussies. That’s a narrative, right?

I think the young girls part makes sense. If they are spending a lot of time on Insta and TikTok, which is a generic idea but probably true, they probably see a lot of semi-woke influencer content, because that’s how people paid to sell eye makeup convince you they’re actually human. They talk about BLM, or eating disorders, or dysmorphia, or whatever else. So, you see a lot of that content in the name of humanity, and maybe you become a bit bleeding heart.
