When I first got pretty deep into true crime, which was maybe 2010 or so, this was one of the cases that first intrigued me. It happened in February 2008 (so over 17 years ago) in Victoria, British Columbia. I will set it up for you quickly and then give you some resources to also pursue.
Lindsay Buziak was a realtor in that area. In late January 2008, she got a call from a couple — and she told friends they sounded “Spanish or Mexican” — wanting to see a $1M+ property in the area. She agreed to show them said property, and there are different reports about whether she thought it was sketchy or not. Ultimately, she did show them the property at 5:30pm on a Saturday. She was planning to hit a bachelorette party after the showing.
Horribly, she was killed at the showing — and semi-quickly, as her time of death is about 5:40pm. One of the most notable elements of this case in terms of chasing leads has always been the type of dress that the female “client” wore, as well as long blond hair that could have been a wig.
