AUDIO: The Exhaustion Of Getting Laid Off

Back on the job carousel.

I got laid off from a gig this morning. I’ve still got some monies coming in from Substack and Medium, so that’s nice (at the very least I cover my mortgage and some bills with that), but I’m apparently now back on the exhausting carousel of “I’d really like a job, sir” and then the inevitable concept of wearing a Radiohead shirt to work one day, which irritates your boss and you sign up for the next layoff list. I understand at-will employment legally, but I do NOT understand it in the context of claiming we somehow care about employees.

I liked this last gig, too. Doubly sad about that.

If you feel like subscribing to help me out to the tune of $5.68 a month (my take-home from a monthly subscription), or $67/month (take home from an annual), that’d be cool. Obviously money sucks for all of us — $300,000 is the new $100,000, or so they say — so no pressure therein.

If you have leads or advice, I’ll take those too.

Appreciate you reading and listening. Have an amazing Friday.

One love,

Ted
